Are you open to the public? Yes! Think of us as a small grocery store, on a big, beautiful property.
Do you sell live animals? No.
Where are you located? In Ancaster. 774 Sawmill Rd (between Brant 22 and Shaver Rd)
When are you open? Our store hours are Mon to Wed 10am-5pm, Thurs & Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 9am-5pm. We are closed Sundays and Holidays.
When do you have fresh product? Tuesday* afternoon our fresh whole chickens arrive. Wednesday* afternoon our fresh chicken parts, beef and pork arrive (select varieties). *When there is a holiday, everything is delayed by one day.
What's the difference between Organic and Raised without Antibiotics (RWA)? Our organic chickens are raised without antibiotics AND they’re fed organic grains, which are GMO-free and pesticide-free. Our chickens that are raised without antibiotics (RWA) are fed conventional grains, so their feed is not GMO-free and pesticide-free. Both types of chicken are air-chilled during processing (no chlorine bath) and they’re all fed a blend of grains, vitamins, minerals and probiotics.
Is your fish wild caught and where is it from? Yes, all our fish is wild caught. The haddock, scallops and shrimp are from Nova Scotia, and the sockeye salmon is from BC.
Do you have animals we can see? Yes! We have laying hens, roosters and an emu you can visit; we have corn for you to feed the chickens! There’s also fish in the pond to look at.
Do you sell goat, sheep, emu or veal? No. We sell chicken, beef, pork, turkey, lamb, wild caught seafood; venison and bison when available.
Do you offer gluten-free sausages, hotdogs and patties? Yes! All of our meats are gluten-free.
Can we sit by the pond, go fishing and swim (or skate in the winter)? During our store hours, we encourage you to enjoy sitting by the pond. However, fishing/swimming/skating is only for the family. As this is the owners’ property, we kindly ask that you only stay on the property while we’re open.
What methods of payment do you accept? We prefer cash or debit (no fees charged to us😊) but we accept visa and mastercard as well.
Do you offer a discount if I buy a large quantity? When you buy a case of one product (around 40lbs; weights vary) you’ll receive 5% off. If you pay with cash or debit, you’ll receive 10% off your case. If you want 15% off* your case, you can order your chicken BULK – bulk means not packaged. Bulk chicken will come in a box, in one big bag, fresh, for you to package at home. *Must also pay with cash or debit to receive 15% off.
